Random Fact of The Day
The rattlesnake's rattle is made up of a series of nested, hollow beads which are actually modified scales from the tip of its tail. Each time the snake sheds its skin, a new rattle segment is added. You cannot tell a snake's age by the number of rattle segments on its tail, as the snake may shed its skin several times a year.
